John powell

John Powell is a composer of film music born in Britain on September 18, 1963.

He worked at Media Ventures studio, which he joined in 1997 with his friend Gavin Greenaway.

Born in Britain on September 18, 1963, Powell is interested from the age of thirteen to the most varied musical forms, from rock to jazz. In 1986, he began studying composition at Trinity College of Music in London, where he won first prizes. He then collaborated on numerous English and European series, including "Stay Lucky", "Vanishing Rembrandts" and "Les Escarpins Sauvages", for which he was awarded at the Festival de Villeurbanne. He works at Media Ventures studio, which he joined in 1997 with his friend Gavin Greenaway.

Since arriving in the United States, John Powell has contributed to such diverse successes as John Woo's Volte-Face, Sam, Jessie Nelson's Sam, Doug Liman's Memory in the Skin, and Fourmiz Animated Films. , Shrek, Chicken Run, The Eldorado Road and Dragons as well as The Love Without Notice of Marc Lawrence and Cody Banks, Harald Zwart's secret agent.

In 1995, with his former classmate Garvin Greenaway, he founded the music creation studio Thinking Music (ITM) where they will compose the music of a hundred or so commercials, for Coca-Cola, Ford, Sega, BMW, as well as an opera: "An Englishman, Irishman and Frenchman". ITM will also collaborate with the Parisian studio Vol de Nuit on commercials and independent films.
