Kvelertak

Kvelertak is a Norwegian metal band from Stavanger. Kvelertak's lyrics are in Norwegian, their music is influenced by many kinds of metal. Their first album Kvelertak is published in 2010, and sold more than 15,000 copies in Norway.

Kvelertak is a Norwegian word meaning "stranglehold" , "strangulation" or "choking" < / span>)>. It is formed in 2007 and is native to Stavanger, Norway. The band consists of Erlend Hjelvik on vocals, guitarists Vidar Landa, Bjarte Lund Rolland and Maciek Ofstad, bassist Marvin Nygaard and Kjetil Gjermundrød on drums.

The group begins with the demo Westcoast Holocaust and plays numerous concerts at festivals in Denmark and Holland. At the end of 2009, they signed a contract with the label Indie Recordings and contacted Kurt Ballou (Converge) to produce their first album>.

The first album Kvelertak of the group of the same name is published in 2010, and sold more than 15 000 copies in Norway. The cover of the album is made by John Baizley (Baroness). Their second album, Meir, was released in March 2013>.
