Lady Gaga , the stage name of Stefanie Joanne Angelina Germanotta , born March 28, 1986 in the Manhattan district of New York, is a singer-songwriter, actress and American dancer.
Raised in New York, she studied at the Convent of the Sacred Heart and was selected for the prestigious Tisch School of the Arts at New York University.
