Lady Gaga , the stage name of Stefanie Joanne Angelina Germanotta , born March 28, 1986 in the Manhattan district of New York, is a singer-songwriter, actress and American dancer.

Raised in New York, she studied at the Convent of the Sacred Heart and was selected for the prestigious Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. She left the school to start a musical career, made a name for herself on the Lower East Side rock music scene, and signed an agreement with Streamline Records in late 2007 as a songwriter. Composing for various singers and groups, his vocal abilities are noticed by the artist Akon, who signs as a singer on his label, Kon Live Distribution.

Gaga breaks out as a singer following the release of her debut album, The Fame (2008), which is, besides being applauded by critics, a huge commercial success around the world including numbers-one Just Dance and Poker Face. Other singles are: Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say), LoveGame and Paparazzi, and Beautiful, Dirty, Rich as a promotional single. A world tour of more than eighteen months will follow, The Monster Ball Tour, which will become one of the most lucrative shows of all time.

His third album, Born This Way (2011), once again reaches the top of most charts and generates, once again, many international hits: Born This Way, Judas, The Edge of Glory, Yoü and I and Marry the Night, so Hair, released as a promotional single and a sold-out tour titled The Born This Way Ball. The singer's fourth album, Artpop, stylized ARTPOP (2013) contains Applause, Do What U Want and G.U.Y. tubes, as well as Venus and Dope promotional singles. This new release ranks # 1 iTunes downloads in more than 80 countries, as well as in the US, UK, Japan, Brazil, Canada, and other countries.
