The Suicide machines

The Suicides Machines is an American ska punk band from Detroit, Michigan.

Before signing with Hollywood Records and Side One Dummy, the group has participated in several independent ska punk compilations. The group currently has eight albums to his credit. Royce Nunley left the group to form his own group Blueprint 76. The drummer Derek Grant also left the group and plays for several other bands such as Thoughts of Ionesco, The Vandals (as a replacement drummer), Face to Face ( plays the guitar for a tour) and finally Alkaline Trio.

The Suicide Machines was formed in 1991 in Detroit, Michigan under the name Jack Kevorkian and the Suicide Machines. The group's original band includes Jason Navarro on vocals, Dan Lukacinsky on guitar, Jason Brake on bass, and Stefan Rairigh on drums. This training lasts only a year when Bill Jennings replaces Rairigh, who is himself replaced by Derek Grant.

They recorded their first demos, The Essential Kevorkian and Green World in 1993 and 1994, released on their own Old Skool Records label from Sluggo. They also release the single Vans Song at Youth Rendition Records. Brake left the band in 1994 and was briefly replaced by Dave Smith until Royce Nunley arrived on bass. The Navarro, Lukacinsky, Nunley, and Grant courses will last four years. They will then reduce their name to The Suicide Machines and register the split Skank for Brains with The Rudiments.

In 1995, the group signed at Hollywood Records, a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company. The year 1996 witnessed the release of their first album, Destruction by Definition. Their mix of punk rock and ska attracts national interest. The single No Face becomes a small success, and the band turns in support of the album across the United States. They publish a sequel in 1998, entitled Battle Hymns.
