Lilly Wood and the Prick is a French folk band formed in 2006 by Nili Hadida and Benjamin Cotto.
The group Lilly Wood and the Prick was born in 2006, from the meeting between the singer Nili Hadida and the guitarist Benjamin Cotto, through a mutual friend in a Parisian café. They meet two days later to compose three songs.
At the end of 2008, they make themselves known on MySpace thanks to a cover of L.E.S Artists of Santigold. That's when they meet Pierre Guimard. Excited by what he heard on their Myspace, he opens the doors of his studio. They are then launched in 2008 by compilation Folk & Proud.
In 2009, Pierre Guimard then founded Matthieu Tessier, the group's manager, the Choke Industry label, which released the band's first EP: Lilly who and the what ?, named after their stage name>. In 2009, they signed with the independent label Cinq7.
