LMFAO is an American dance-pop band from Pacific Palisades, California. It is composed of Uncle Redfoo> and nephew Sky Blu >>>>>. The group's musical style often refers to the consumption of alcohol. The group is best known for the title Party Rock Anthem, which will reach the top rankings of many countries such as the United Kingdom, Australia and the United States. On September 21, 2012, the band decided to separate temporarily so that both members could better focus on their solo career.
Sky Blu and RedFoo grew up in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, where they formed their LMFAO group in 2006>. RedFoo and SkyBlu are half-uncle and half-nephew respectively. RedFoo is the son of Berry Gordy, founder of the Motown label, and Nancy Leiviska. SkyBlu is the grandson of Berry Gordy and Thelma Coleman through their son, Berry Gordy IV, and his wife Valerie Robeson. The name "LMFAO" is found through an internet chat between SkyBlu and his grandmother (RedFoo's mother). At first, Skyler and Stefan wanted to call their duet "Sexy Dudes". When SkyBlu announces the name of the group to her grandmother, she makes fun of them by writing in capital letters "LMFAO" ("LMFAO" is an English acronym meaning "Laughing My Fucking Ass Off" , which can be translated into French as: "Laughing to bang your ass on the floor" , or to be seen as the English equivalent of "ptdr" ).
LMFAO launches the EP titled Party Rock on the iTunes Music Store on July 1, 2008. The eponymous album is released on July 7, 2009. It ranks 33> on Billboard 200 and 2> on Top Electronic Albums>. The Los Angeles Times describes Party Rock as "14 odes, almost interchangeable, to the nightlife". The first single from this album, I'm in Miami Bitch I'm in Miami Trick for the version clean ), published in December 2008, ranks 51> of < span class = "lang-en" lang = "en"> Billboard Hot 100 and 47> sales in Canada>. The LMFAO join Kevin Rudolf and Cuban-American rapper Pitbull on the title Shooting Star . In 2009, LMFAO participates in the song Sine Language of The Crystal Method>.
In 2010, the LMFAO participate in David Guetta's single, Gettin 'Over You , which becomes a global hit, finishing in the top 10 of eleven countries and in first place in three of them, notably in the United Kingdom>. The duo records their second album, Sorry for Party Rocking . The first single, Party Rock Anthem , was released in March 2011. It is made with British singer Lauren Bennett, and produced by GoonRock. In 2011, the song was the most popular song among the public, finishing first in the United States,> Canada, the United Kingdom and more than a dozen countries. The second excerpt from Sorry for Party Rocking , entitled Champagne Showers , is released on May 27, 2011 with British singer Natalia Kills>. In front of the global success, the album Sorry for Party Rocking is then published on June 17, 2011. They collaborate with Took My Love by rapper Pitbull, produced by RedFoo>.
