Los bunkers

Los Bunkers is a Chilean rock band from Concepción. One of the most popular in the country, it is influenced by the sound of the 1970s, by bands like Los Jaivas, Los Tres and The Beatles, as well as folk music. The group comes from the city of Concepción, in the Biobío Region of southern Chile. Three of them met during their teenage years (Alvaro Lopez, Gonzalo Lopez and Francisco Durán) at the Salesiano High School in Concepción, which they left in 1998, after having been part of various groups like La Pol Cheffer Band where they played Mauricio Durán and Mauricio Basualto, for their part, meet at the School of Journalism of the University of Concepción, where they are part of a group called Los Biotles, which plays several Beatles hits.

During the winter of 1999, the group Los Bunkers, with Alvaro Lopez (acoustic guitar and main voice), Gonzalo Lopez (bass), Francisco and Mauricio Durán (guitars and choir), and Manuel Lagos (drummer of the time where Francisco and Alvaro were teenagers at the Salesiano High School). At that time, they are already interested in composition; this is how, at their first concerts, we hear songs like "Fantasías Animadas de Ayer y Hoy" , Buscando Cuadros , No Sé , and Jamás who will be part of the record of their debut. They also feature several hits from The Kinks, The Beatles, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Cream, The Byrds, David Bowie, Bob Dylan, etc.> They perform first at Federico Santa María Technical University in Talcahuano, and the series of concerts they perform between 1999 and 2000 points out the local press that highlights their talent.

The group with some success decides to go to Santiago in February 2000, hoping to find better places to show their repertoire. Manuel Lagos leaves the group to stay in Concepción and is replaced by Mauricio Basualto who, in March of the same year, takes charge of the battery. The group is definitely formed.
