The Blues brothers

The Blues Brothers is the name of an American blues band composed of comedians Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi and some of the greatest blues musicians. It is also the title of a film released in 1980, telling the fictional story of this group.

John Belushi (aka singer "Joliet" Jake E. Blues) and Dan Aykroyd (aka singer and harmonica player Elwood J. Blues)>, both members of the original team of the television show Saturday Night Live (SNL) of the NBC channel, create The Blues Brothers and their alternative identities in early 1976 to warm the SNL audience.

The Blues Brothers made their first direct appearance in SNL, with Belushi and Aykroyd wearing their bee costumes, which they normally wore for the "Killer Bees" skit, playing "I'm a King Bee" by Slim Harpo. In the following weeks, The Blues Brothers become a popular addition to the show and begin to appear semi-regularly. The humorous aspect is based in part on the image of two men dressed in black suits looking like mafia hit men, who suddenly explode into energetic songs and dances.

Jake and Elwood are backed by quality people like guitarist Steve Cropper and bassist Donald "Duck" Dunn, both from Booker T. & the M.G.'s, and Matt "Guitar" Murphy.
