Michael learns to rock

Michael Learns to Rock (also known as MLTR ) is a Danish pop rock band. It was formed in the spring of 1988, since then it has been a great success in Denmark, but especially in Asia, where he obtained several platinum records. According to Asiaweek magazine, until 1998, the group had sold more than 2.5 million albums on the continent, the Asian market being very fond of romantic songs.

The group's origins date back to 1987 at Aarhus High School in Denmark. Singer and pianist Jascha Richter is a small group consisting of drummer Kåre Wanscher and guitarist Mikkel Lentz. All three are music fans, passionate about the history of rock and pop from their childhood. They decide to create a larger group after Jascha introduced them to some songs he wrote. In the spring of 1988, Søren Madsen, a guitarist, agrees to hold the bass during a rehearsal. Michael Learns To Rock is formed. The group debuted in Aarhus in May 1988 and then took part in the summer annual contest for young talents in Aarhus. MLTR wins the contest and meets the one who will become their manager, J.P. Andersen, who is then a member of the Jpgamt jury.

In November 2008, MLTR released its seventh studio album, Eternity, under its own independent label, MLTR Music, in association with Danish label At: tack. Even if the copies have trouble leaving (as the group admits), the second single of the album, Sweetest Surprise, reached the first place in Thailand the first week of its release.

In 2014, the group released 25: The Complete Singles on the occasion of its 25th anniversary on October 25, 2014. The first single, Silent Times, is released on September 16, 2014, followed by Call on Love, December 18, 2014 The band also records the song Eternal Love, theme song of the Korean drama Healer. It is written by Lee Sang Joon, Denzil "DR" Remedios, and Ryan Jhun Sewon>.
