Modern talking

Modern Talking is a German pop band. Composed of Dieter Bohlen and Thomas Anders, the group is active between 1982 and 1987, then 1998 and 2003.

In 2017, the duo has more than 120 million records (albums and singles) sold around the world, and they are considered one of the most successful pop bands>. They are known for their hits You're My Heart, You're My Soul (1984), Cheri, Cheri Lady (1985), Brother Louie (1986) and Atlantis Is Calling (S.O.S. for Love) (1986).

It was in 1982 that Dieter Bohlen (author / composer / producer) met Thomas Anders (performer) to produce solo. After a few titles in German, including a cover of F.R. David (Pick Up the Phone) and Real Life (Send Me an Angel), the two men decided to form the Modern Talking duo in 1984. Indeed, at that time, the epic disco ends and many new wave groups with synthetic pop sound appeared in England and Germany. Their first song, You're My Heart, You're My Soul, is quickly becoming one of the hits of the year 1985> which ranks for six weeks on the charts >>>>>. This song will become the best-selling single in German record history. It also reaches the first place in a dozen countries.

Between 1985 and 1986, Modern Talking managed to place in Germany five consecutive singles in first place (besides You're My Heart, You're My Soul, You Can Win If You Want, Brother Louie, Cheri Cheri Lady >>>, Atlantis Is Calling (SOS for Love)), reaching the pinnacle of its international fame with the title Brother Louie, who spends two weeks at 4> place in the UK> and enters the Top 100 in Canada. Moreover, between 1985 and 1987, no less than six albums are produced. Modern Talking was successful in Europe, South America, the Middle East (Iran) and particularly in the Soviet Union.
