Modjo

Modjo is a French house band that made its name in the early summer of 2000 with the single Lady (Hear Me Tonight ) .

Modjo is a duet composed of Romain Tranchart (born in 1976) and Yann Destagnol (born in 1978). The first has already released a record in 1999, Funk Legacy, which sold 10,000 copies . Romain meets Yann at American School of Modern Music , where they study jazz and multiple instruments. The duo writes Lady (Hear Me Tonight) their first single on the sample of Soup for one by Chic. Lady goes out in the summer of 2000 and knows a great success. Chillin and What I Mean follow it quickly, up to September 2001, when the band finally released their first album, Modjo, and won a Victoire de la Musique in the category "Album of Electronic Music". The group split in 2002.

In 2003, Yann Destal signed his 1> solo album, The Great Blue Scar . The same year, Romain Tranchart made a remix of California for Mylène Farmer who will be present on the album RemixeS of the latter. In 2005, Romain Tranchart collaborated with French singer RoBERT by remixing two of his tracks, Nickel (music by Philippe Gautier), and Personne, on his fourth album, Six pieds sous terre.

In 2008, Romain is a sound engineer on Sébastien Tellier's third album, Sexuality . In 2011, Yann Destal is in the short film Les pseudonymes by Nicolas Engel>, a musical mainly shot in Le Havre. Subsequently, Yann Destal participates in the Dax Riders' album where he plays RaspberryDisco , later remixed by The Toxic Avenger.
