Moğollar (literally Turkish "Mongolian") is one of the pioneering groups of ethnic Turkish rock for 40 years. Their goal is to combine traditional folk music and pop.
The founding members of the group are Tahir Nejat Özyılmazel (Neco), Aziz Azmet, Aydın Daruga and Murat Ses. However the group will see the list of its members evolve greatly during its history.
In 1971, Moğollar won the grand prize of L'Académie Charles-Cros, a prestigious award previously won by bands such as Pink Floyd and Jimi Hendrix.
In 1974, after the departure of several members, the group survives as a duet between Cahit Berkay and Engin Yörükoğlu, recording that year two albums. But the Moğollar finally completely dissolved in 1976.
