The Cat empire

The Cat Empire is an Australian band originally from Melbourne formed in 1999. Originally composed of three members, then six, this band mixes eclectic influences jazz, reggae, funk, Latino, hip-hop, rock, ska and gypsy.

Current members of the group include Ollie McGill (keyboards), Ryan Monro (bass), Felix Riebl (percussion and vocals), Harry James Angus (trumpet and vocals), Will Hull-Brown (drums) and Jamshid "Jump" Khadiwhala (DJ and percussion).

The first album, soberly named The Cat Empire, was released in 2003. It followed On the Attack in 2004, this year also being the occasion of their first tour in Europe, including the Eurockéennes de Belfort.

The next album Two Shoes will be released in 2005. It will meet with success, being ranked number 1 in sales in Australia.

The group returned in 2006 with Cities (recorded for the Commonwealth Games) and in 2007 with the album So many nights and a French tour in the fall.

A live album comes out in 2009, taken from their world tour Live On Earth.

In the summer of 2010 released the album entitled Cinema, will follow in spring 2013 Steal the Light.
