Otep

Otep is an American nude metal band from Los Angeles, California. Formed in 2000, the band has two EPs, six studio albums, and a live album. In December 2013, they no longer belong to the Victory Records label, and are now signed to the Napalm Records label.

The band was formed in late 2000 in California by four musicians including singer Otep Shamaya, guitarist Aaron Nordstrom, drummer Brian Wolff, and bassist "Evil" J. McGuire. He is then noticed by Sharon Osbourne who was quite impressed to offer Otep the opportunity to play Ozzfest in 2001>. Meanwhile, the band has no contract, but it's after some gigs and no demo that Otep signs with Capitol Records>. They then play around Los Angeles and publish the EP Jihad in 2001>.

The band releases the album Sevas Tra with Terry Date> on June 18, 2002>, then plays several gis at Ozzfest, and becomes the one of the groups popularized in 2002>. Their debut album reached the place of the Billboard 200>, and the 86> place of the UK Albums Chart>. Sevas Tra read backwards gives Art Saves.

Their second album, House of Secrets , produced by Greg Wells at Rocket Carousel Studios in Los Angeles, is published on July 27, 2004>. For the album, the band decides to recruit producer Greg Wells who worked with the Deftones>. The album reaches the 93> Billboard 200> place and the 102> place of French ratings>.
