Canon of Pachelbel

Johann Pachelbel is a German composer and organist of the Baroque period, born on September 1, 1653 in Nuremberg (then a free city of Empire) and died in the same city on March 3, 1706>.

He is best known to the general public for his famous Canon and Jitter in D major for three violins and basso continuo, commonly called Pachelbel's Canon.

His father was a wine merchant. He studied music in Altdorf and Regensburg, and became a student of Johann Kaspar Kerll. He successively held positions of organist and professor in several cities of central and southern Germany:
