Skinlab

Skinlab is an American groove metal band from San Francisco, California. They are in their infancy supported by Robb Flynn who helps them sign their first record deal and turns them into the first Machine Head tour. Over time, the style of the group will approach the neo metal.

Skinlab was formed in 1994 in California. After the release of two demos and a self-produced EP in 1996, the band signs a contract with Century Media through their friend Robb Flynn. They released a debut album entitled Bound, Gagged and Blindfolded in 1997. In the spring the group promoted it by opening for Machine Head, first in the United States and then, along with Coal Chamber and Napalm Death, in Europe. They perform at Dynamo Open Air and then open, still in Europe, for Grip Inc. in June.

In 1999, Skinlab releases Disembody: The New Flesh. In March the same year, they return to Europe opening a tour of Napalm Death. They perform again at the Dynamo Open Air, and give some concerts headlining. Their third album, Revolting Room, was released in 2002. The group promotes it by touring with SOiL in the United States, but separates the following year.

The group reformed in 2007> and broke by mutual agreement its contract with Century Media>. He released a fourth album called The Scars Between Us in 2009. The release is accompanied by a South American tour in opening of Ill Niño. In June 2011, guitarist Provo replaces Snake. Unable to record more songs, Skinlab splits>.
