A hill to die upon

A Hill to Die Upon is a band of American death and unblack metal, from Monmouth and Galesburg, Illinois. Composed of two permanent members, the brothers Adam and Michael Cook, respectively guitarist-singer and drummer, the band performs and still records with a session bassist. They show themselves under a dark and bloody imagery, affirming their faith in Jesus by their texts.

Adam and R. Michael Cook form A Hill to Die Upon as a hardcore and metalcore punk band in 2004 in Monmouth. Michael explains that they were looking to play extreme and hardcore music, which was easier to play than metal. He reveals that the metal they were trying to play at this time "was shit". " Also in 2004, the hardcore punk scene is very important in the Midwest, allowing both brothers to play in Illinois and Iowa. The band is left alone to play extreme metal, and has difficulty playing on stage.

The brothers play their first concert in Burlington, Iowa, and resume songs from Norma Jean and As I Lay Dying. Over time, they are interested in death and black metal, and their band becomes musically faster, darker and more aggressive.

In 2008, A Hill to Die Upon records a demo, which leads him to sign with the label Bombworks Records>. In December of this year, the band starts recording the album Infinite Titanic Immortal , announced for June 2009. The album is recorded by Kevin Rendleman at Trash Rocket Studios in Peoria, Ill., And mixed at Dark Chamber Studios by Eric Tordsson, former member of Crimson Moonlight. Infinite Titanic Immortal is published on July 21, 2009>.
