The Starting line

The Starting Line is an American alternative rock band from Churchville, Pennsylvania.

In 1999, the group that will become The Starting Line is initiated in Churchville, Pennsylvania, via an email from guitarist Matt Watts to singer and bassist Kenny Vasoli. They formed under the name of Sunday Drive, when Vasoli, 14, at that time in a band called Smash Adams, said he was interested in jamming. They record a demo tape called Four Songs. Their first official release is a split with The Jimmy Tuesday Band and The Commercials, released on KickStart Audio in 2000.

Sunday Drive is contacted by We the People Records who asks them for a session (We the People Records Sessions). Scheduled for December 2000, the twelve tracks will be included in the album With Hopes of Starting Over , on We the People Records, but are finally published in demo, while the band signed with Drive-Thru Records in April 2001>. They then publish the EP With Hopes of Starting Over . They will later explain, concerning the name of the group, that it has no real meaning, but that the members have agreed to adopt it.

On July 16, 2002, almost a year after their EP hit, the studio album "Say It Like You Mean It" follows.
