Stream of passion

Stream of Passion is a Dutch progressive metal band. Influenced by symphonic elements, the group was formed in 2005 by Arjen Anthony Lucassen and Marcela Bovio. In 2016, he announces his separation.

The group was formed in 2005 by Arjen Anthony Lucassen, who chose to select relatively unknown musicians, with the exception of Marcela Bovio, who had participated in the Ayreon album, The Human Equation . The first album of the band, Embrace the Storm , is recorded via internet> in several different places. It was released on October 24 the same year under the label of InsideOut Music.

The group makes its first tour through Paris on February 2, 2006, the second tour ends abruptly in early 2007 when Mexican members of the group are turned back by the British immigration services. The last concerts are therefore canceled and their last concert takes place in Dordrecht on January 26, 2007. Arjen and Alejandro then announce leaving the group to devote themselves to other projects. In 2009, the group released their album, The Flame Within , which reached the 57> place of the Dutch rankings>.

On October 17, 2011, the group appeared at the H'elles on Stage IV in Villeurbanne, to replace the group Visions of Atlantis whose singer was sick. The same year, the band released the album Darker Days . In early 2014, the band released a fundraising campaign on Indiegogo to fund its upcoming new album. The goal is achieved and the band can finally release their latest album, A War of Our Own, the same year.
