Streetlight Manifesto is an American ska punk band from East Brunswick Township, New Jersey.
Many of its members (or ex-members) are already well known ska lovers, having already been part of large groups: Catch 22 for Tomas Kalnoky (who was singer, guitarist and composer), Jamie Egan, Mike Soprano and Josh Ansle, and One Cool Guy for Stuart Karmatz, Pete Sibilia, Dan Ross, and Chris Paszik. This training has undergone many changes over time, and Tomas Kalnoky is in 2007 the only survivor of the initial training.
After releasing their first demo in 2002, the group is noted by the label Victory Records, which also publishes Catch 22. In 2003 released their first album, Everything Goes Numb. It will be a success, and it will be found, three years after its release, in the top 100 sales of the site Interpunk.com.
In September 2004, Ansley announced his departure to devote himself to an acting career. The next start is with Egan on January 22, 2005, before Streetlight Manifesto starts the Ska Is Dead 2 tour, with MU330 and Voodoo Glow Skulls>. Delano Bonner will play the trumpet the same day at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey. Dan Ross wanted to leave the band after the Ska Is Dead 2 tour but was forced to leave earlier because of a family crisis.
