A static lullaby

A Static Lullaby is an American post-hardcore band, originally from Chino Hills, California.

A Static Lullaby is formed from a high school jam session that leads members to leave their respective groups and gather. Formed in 2001 in Chino Hills, California, the band initially includes singer Joe Brown, bassist Phil Pirrone, drummer Brett Dinovo, and guitarists Dan Arnold and Nathan Lindeman. Their first concert takes place almost two weeks after their creation.

In September 2001, the band self-produced its first song called Withered. They first recorded the songs Love to Hate, Hate to Love, The Shooting Star that Destroyed Us All, A Sip of Wine Chased With Cyanide and Charred Fields of Snow for their eponymous EP. Then they record two new songs; A Sip of Wine Chased With Cyanide and A Song for a Broken Heart, and publish them in their demo-EP, Withered> which sells for 6,000 copies. After the release of these EP, the band begins to turn on the US West Coast.

The group signed a contract with Ferret Records in 2002. Subsequently, they began recording a first studio album, ... And Do not Forget to Breathe, released in early 2003, and spend the next 18 months shooting in support for the album, alongside AFI, My Chemical Romance and Brand New. During a 16-week tour with Strung Out, drummer Brett Dinovo leaves the band and is later replaced by guitar technician Ben Newsham.
