The Surfaris is an American group of Surf music formed in 1962 in Glendora, California. They are mainly known for their successful Surfer Joe and Wipe Out that came out on the same single.

The original musicians of the group were Ron Wilson (en) (drums ), Jim Fuller (lead guitar), Bob Berryhill (rhythm guitar) and Pat Connolly (bass). Saxophonist Jim Pash joined after their recording sessions "Wipe Out / Surfer Joe" at Pal Studios. Kenny Forssi also played bass with the Surfaris.

Ron Wilson's energetic drum solo makes "Wipe Out" one of the most instrumental instrumental songs of the period. "Wipe Out" is also known for its introduction, a crunch sound (mimicking a broken surfboard), and a manic laugh followed by the only two words in the song, "Wipe Out". "Wipe Out" is often considered to be the surf anthem.
