Sybreed is a Swiss cyber-metal band from Geneva, Canton of Geneva. Formed in 2003, Sybreed comes from the ashes of a Swiss dark metal band called Rain. Their debut album, Slave Design , was released in 2004 on the Reality Entertainment label. Their second album, Antares , was released in Europe in 2007. The band broke up in 2013.
Sybreed comes from the ashes of a Swiss dark metal band called Rain. Drop (guitar) makes a slight shift towards electronic music, to propose an original alloy of metal with a hardcore tendency, electronic sounds and melodies inspired by bands like In Flames. The name of the group is a play on words between the words synthetic and breed>. The Drone is the name of the recording studio, mounted by Drop in Geneva, which is used by Sybreed for its recordings but also by other groups.
Their first album, Slave Design , was released in 2004 on the Reality Entertainment label, and made a breakthrough in the industry. It is well received by the specialized press >>>>>. In February 2006, the band separates from drummer Alex, and looks for a replacement. They recruit Kevin Choiral later. In October 2006, Sybreed announced a sequel to his first album>. Their second album, Antares , was released in Europe on October 1, 2007 under the new record label Listenable Records. Dirk Verbeuren, drummer of the groups Soilwork and Scarve (under Listenable Records also) participates in this album. The third album, The Pulse of Awakening is released in Europe at the end of 2009 under Listenable Records.
On April 7, 2010, their song Doomsday Party becomes downloadable content for the video game Rock Band . In April 2011, Sybreed published an EP, entitled Challenger , only available via iTunes on April 23>, but representative of their fourth album in come, God is an Automaton , published September 24, 2012 in Europe, and October 2 in North America>. At the end of 2012, Sybreed publishes the video of the song "No Wisdom Brings Solace" , from God is an Automaton , directed by Anthony Dubois and filmed on October 18, 2012 at the Euroblast festival in Cologne, Germany>. On February 18, 2013, the group released a video of the song The Line of Least Resistance , also from God is an Automaton , directed by Benjamin Cappelletti>.
