Barenaked ladies

Barenaked Ladies , often abbreviated BNL or occasionally BnL , is a Canadian alternative rock band from Scarborough, a suburb of Toronto, Ontario . Their albums are among the best-selling in North America. They are known for their One Week hits, Pinch Me, If I Had $ 1000000 and Brian Wilson, as well as for their light and comical concert style. Their trademark during most of their concerts consists of small comic speeches between the songs, as well as songs (sometimes raps) completely improvised. They are also the interpreters of the credits of the American series The Big Bang Theory with their single History of Everything.

Barenaked Ladies begins as a duo composed of Ed Robertson and Steven Page. The two have known each other from Churchill Heights Public School, but will not become friends until they meet at a Harvey's restaurant after a Peter Gabriel concert. Both passionate about Gabriel, they make friends and start playing together; Steve will be impressed by Ed's ability to harmonize>

Page and Robertson continue to play and write together. The band's first cassette, Buck Naked (1989), is recorded on a tape recorder. The duo will follow the band Corky and the Juice Pigs.
