Beach house

Beach House is an American dream pop band from Baltimore, Maryland. Formed in 2004, it is composed of Alex Scally and Victoria Legrand. In 2018, the group is the author of seven albums.

Beach House was formed in 2004 in Baltimore, Maryland. It is composed of Alex Scally on guitar and keyboards and Victoria Legrand - also niece of French composer Michel Legrand - on vocals and keyboards. The group begins as a simple studio project. A first self-titled album was released on October 3rd 2006 on the Carpark label. This album gets a good critical success ranking, for example, sixteenth on the list of the 50 best albums of 2006 established by Pitchfork. The same magazine evoking the influences of Mazzy Star, Spiritualized, Galaxie 500 and Slowdive to describe the album.

Beach House released a second album in 2008, Devotion which includes, besides the single Gila, a cover of the song Some Things Last Long Time originally played by Daniel Johnston. They collaborate with Grizzly Bear on the song Slow Life>, which is present on the soundtrack of Twilight New Moon.

Their third album, Teen Dream, was released on January 26, 2010. This is their first album released on the Sub Pop label, which is well received by critics and audiences alike, by winning the 43> place des Billboard sales>.
