Abba

ABBA [² A b ː A ] is a Swedish pop band founded in Stockholm in November 1972. The group is originally composed of Agnetha Fältskog, Anni-Frid Lyngstad, called "Frida", Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus.

The acronym and palindrome ABBA is composed of the four initials of the first names of the members ( A gnetha, B jörn, B enny, A nni-Frid → ABBA). It is only from 1976 that the now famous ambigram, with an inverted B, is used as a logo.

Knowing a huge success in the late 1970s (especially during the disco period), the band sold millions of records. Separated since 1982, ABBA announces at the end of April 2018 that its members have found themselves for the recording of two new songs, during a hologram show scheduled for 2019.

The creation of ABBA is at the initiative of an impresario mentor, Stikkan "Stig" Anderson (1931-1997). In the late 1960s, this lyricist was at the head of a music publishing house with over two thousand songs.
