Boikot

Boikot is a Spanish punk band from Madrid, politically engaged on the left.

The group began in 1987 playing in bars, parties and other improvised scenes. After a few changes in the composition of the group, they recorded two albums on the label Barrabás, Los Ojos de la calle in 1990, then ... Con perdón de los paysasos in 1992. They are then known playing on different occasions in Madrid until 1995, when they separated from Barrabás and decided to set up their own label, named BKT.

They released two albums Cría cuervos in 1995 and Cond Condena in 1996, and play in rock festivals as diverse as Festimad or Metaliko Rock. Then, between 1997 and 1999, the group created the trilogy named La Ruta del Ché, composed of three albums featuring popular classics such as Carlos Puebla's Hasta siempre, and recordings made during their South American tour in countries such as Cuba, Mexico and Argentina. Ruta del che incorporates a growing number of instruments and rhythms from Latin America.

At the end of the Ruta del Ché, the band released, in 2000, an album entitled Historias directas de Boikot. This album also includes a booklet and a video of the tour. Two albums are then released De espaldas al mundo and Tus problemas crecen respectively in 2002 and 2004. Tus problemas crecen which includes the songs Bajo el suelo against domestic violence> and Stop censura>. In 2007, the group performed in numerous festivals in Colombia, Germany, Italy and also in Turkey at Barışarock, a festival held in August in Istanbul whose motto is "For peace, rock and the convergence of cultures ". Also in 2007, the band also participated in the Not One Step Back tour with the bands Reincidentes, Porretas and Sonora. At the end of 2007, the band traveled to Mostar, Bosnia, to record their eleventh album at the Pavarotti Music Center. This eleventh album is titled Amaneció and released in April 2008, on the label Realidad Musical. The album reached the 52> place of the Spanish rankings>. In February 2009, Boikot made his first tour in Japan, with a total of five concerts.
