Bring me the horizon

Bring Me the Horizon , sometimes abbreviated BMTH , is a British alternative metal band from Sheffield, Yorkshire. Over the years, Bring Me the Horizon has become an iconic figure in the post-hardcore and rock scene in general.

Bring Me the Horizon was formed in 2004 by musicians from various groups on the local scene. Their group name would be based on a replica of the movie Pirates of the Caribbean, where Captain Jack Sparrow says "Now ... bring me this horizon" (in English: Now .. bring me that horizon). They would then have changed that into the; Bring Me the Horizon becomes the official name of the band>.

Months after her training, the band recorded an independent demo called Bedroom Sessions. They then recorded their first EP demo This Is What the Edge of Your Seat Was Made For, published in October 2004. It is recorded in Nottingham for two weekends; they take care of bass and drums the first weekend, and guitar and vocals the second weekend.

After the release of the EP, the group attracts the interest of the British label Thirty Days of Night Records, which signs for four albums, and reissues their EP in January 2005. Bring Me the Horizon becomes the first signature of the label. The reissue helps them to become popular, and reaches the place of British rankings. The band is rewarded in the Best New Band category at the Kerrang Ceremony! Awards>. The band's first tour is with The Red Chord in the UK.
