Taproot

Taproot is an American nude metal band from Ann Arbor, Michigan. The group was formed in 1997 and has a total of eight albums. Mediated from the 2000s, after their signatures at Warner, they are considered the new metal wave and would shoot with bands like Deftones or Linkin Park; the current manager of Taproot, Mark Wakefield was the singer of Linkin Park, but the band was not yet called Linkin Park but Xero. They are best known for their single Poem >>>.

Since 2005, and their departure from the major, Taproot has found a less aggressive style navigating between rock and alternative.

In 1997, Taproot sends his first demo to Fred Durst, singer with Limp Bizkit. Impressed by their performance, he offers them a contract with Interscope Records. However, after long negotiations, Taproot leaves somewhere else and finally signs to the Atlantic Records label. Durst is particularly keen on singer Stephen Richards> and System of a Down, who assisted Taproot for their Atlantic signing. Therefore, Durst returns System of a Down from the Family Values ​​Tour in 1999>. Taproot will publish three independent albums: ... Something More than Nothing (1998), Mentobe (1998) and Upon Us (1999).

The group publishes its first studio album, Gift on June 27, 2000. With the single Again and Again broadcast in loop on MTV2, the group succeeds in becoming popularized. With the help of Jack Osbourne, son of Ozzy Osbourne, Taproot participates in Ozzfest in 2000 and 2001.
