Ace Frehley , by his real name Paul Daniel Frehley , is an American guitarist. He was born in the Bronx on April 27, 1951, where he also grew up. He is best known for being the first solo guitarist of the American rock band Kiss from his creation in 1973 until 1982. He invented the character of " Spaceman " (aka " Space Ace "). After leaving Kiss, Frehley began a solo career, which was suspended at the time of Kiss's original re-enactment in 1996, for a meeting tour that was a huge worldwide success. He leaves the group again in 2002 and is replaced by Tommy Thayer.

His talent, his peculiar guitar playing technique and his live performances have inspired a whole generation of guitarists such as: Dimebag Darrell, Mike McCready, John 5, Dave 'Snake' Sabo, Paul Gilbert, Marty Friedman and many others >, so that Frehley is today considered a guitar hero>. Frehley is also known for his use of many special effect guitars, including a Gibson Les Paul guitar that emits smoke from the humbucker microphone and produces spinning pyrotechnic effects, as well as a special Les Paul that emits light in depending on the tempo of the song.

In 2004, Guitar World ranked him # 14 in the Top 100 Heavy Metal Guitarists' List> and ranked # 100 in the Top 100 Guitarists list of all time.>
