Volbeat

Volbeat is a Danish heavy metal band from Copenhagen. Formed in 2001, the band mixes heavy metal and rockabilly, a genre dubbed "elvis metal" . This comes from their classic rock influences like Elvis Presley or Johnny Cash, but also from more contemporary bands like Metallica or AC / DC.

The group currently consists of guitarists Michael Poulsen and Rob Caggiano, drummer Jon Larsen and bassist Kaspar Boye Larsen. The band is signed to the Dutch label Mascot Records, and has six studio albums and a DVD. All their studio albums are certified gold records in Denmark and the fourth, "Beyond Hell / Above Heaven , which received a unanimous positive international, is also gold record in Sweden. Volbeat's sixth album, Seal the Deal and Let's Boogie, is released internationally on June 3, 2016.

His first appearance was under the name of Dominus with a death metal label in 1991. The penultimate album Vol.beat , published in 1997 , gives birth to the future name of the group. Singer Michael Poulsen, no longer in tune with this music and this type of scene, decided to change the style of the group in 2000 and it is this choice that definitely launches his career. With a thousand copies sold in 2003 for his first demo, he signed at Rebel Monster Records, a sub-label of Mascot Records. .

Volbeat publishes his first album, The Strength / The Sound / The Songs in 2005. The band consists of Michael Poulsen singing, Franz "Hellboss" Gottschalk on guitar, Jon Larsen on drums and Anders Kjølholm on bass. The album is a huge national success in Denmark and reaches the top of the charts.
