After the burial

After the Burial is an American metalcore band from Minneapolis, Minnesota>. The band is currently on the Sumerian Records label, and has released three of its four albums on this label. Since its formation in 2004, the group has made two changes of singer and two changes of drummer, the bassist Lerichard Foral, the two guitarists Justin Lowe (rhythm guitarist) and Trent Hafdahl (solo guitarist) being thus the remaining representatives of the initial formation . The group participates in many festivals, and is considered a prominent member of the djent scene.

After the Burial was founded in 2004 by Nick Wellner, Trent Hafdahl, Justin Lowe, and Greg Erickson, all of whom met in high school. Dave Coleman joins them as a bass player. Lee Foral is the last to join the group after responding to an ad. The band's first album, Forging a Future Self , was released on April 1, 2006 on Corrosive Records. The group then signs at Sumerian Records after the departure of Erickson and Wellner and the arrival of Grant Luoma as singer. Eric Robles replaces Erickson on drums but leaves the band before recording the second album.

The recording of the second album Rareform begins in 2008. Shortly after the release the singer Grant Luoma is replaced>. Anthony Notarmaso takes his place and the band recruits Dan Carle on drums.

At the end of 2008, the band first appeared in Suicide Silence and, in early 2009, went on a joint tour of the United States with the band Veil of Maya. The band decided to reissue the album Rareform with Notarmaso on vocals in September 2009; the reissue also includes bonuses, including the live recording of one of their concerts.
