3 doors down

3 Doors Down is an American rock band from Escatawpa, Mississippi.

It was in the mid-1990s in the small town of Escatawpa, Mississippi that 3 Doors Down was born. The band is made up of singer and drummer Brad Arnold, guitarists Matt Roberts and Chris Henderson and bassist Todd Harrell.

Shortly after its formation, the band established itself as one of the best live bands in the region and released a first demo in 1997 that took off in the hands of an ever-growing audience. It was during an appearance at the CBGB in New York in 1997 that the group caught the attention of Republic Records, a subsidiary of the giant Universal Music Group.

After signing an agreement with Republic, the group enters the studio to work on his first album. During the recording sessions, 3 Doors Down welcomes drummer Richard Liles who replaces Brad Arnold who can now concentrate on singing full time. As soon as it was released in 2000, The Better Life drew comparisons with Matchbox Twenty. The album takes place in two stages: if the first three tracks (Kryptonite, Loser and Duck And Run) flirt with the post-grunge, the rest is more in line with the melodic rock of the 1970s. one of the surprise hits of the summer of 2000, making its way into the top 10 of the Billboard, in addition to being certified double platinum thanks to Kryptonite which is one of the most broadcast songs on the radio during the year and which ranks in the top 5 of Billboard Hot 100>.
