Age of nemesis is a Hungarian progressive metal band from Székesfehérvár. It was initially formed in 1997 as Nemesis, then changed its name to Age of Nemesis in 2005. The band is heavily influenced by Dream Theater and Symphony X. They release their first albums in English and Hungarian on different dates.
The group was formed in 1997 in Székesfehérvár>, under the name Nemesis by Zoltán Fábián György Nagy, Ákos Thorday, György Pethe and Mihály Szerecsen. In 1998, they recorded their first self-produced album, Nemesis. They sign to the labels Lajos Gulyás and GU ^ LA Records Ltd. in 1999. They publish their second studio album, Abraxas, the same year. They participate in the festival ProgFest in 1999 as one of the headliners. After three tours in Hungary, the band dissolved on December 16, 2000.
However, Gulyás artistic agent of the group, persuades Zoltán Fábián and György Nagy to continue. Two months later, on February 24, 2001, the band changed formation and now consists of: bassist Csaba Berczelly, drummer László Nagy, singer Zoltán Kiss (formerly Belfegor). In April 2001, they re-record their first two albums, this time in English. 80 copies are published for promotional purposes. While waiting for a new contract, they shoot in 2001 at ProgFest, and perform in several Hungarian cities. Readers of the German magazine Rock Hard will elect Nemesis as "best self-produced group" in 2001. In 2002, the group signed to the American label The Laser's Edge which he publishes, the 3 September 2002, his first album in English, Eden? in 16 countries.
In 2005, the group changed its name to Age of Nemesis. They record and publish in 2006, their first album under this name, entitled Psychogeist, with Magna Carta label >>>. The following year, in 2007, the band released the album Terra Incognita>, which is sung in both Hungarian and English.
