Agnostic Front is an American hardcore punk band from New York. The band is the founder of New York hardcore punk. Conducted since the early 1980s by Roger Miret and Vincent "Vinnie Stigma" Cappuccio, spiritual leader of the movement. The group is one of the mainstays of the late CBGB's until closed. The group separated in 1993 before reforming five years later in 1998.
The group is formed by Vincent "Vinnie Stigma" Cappuccio in early 1982>. Roger Miret and Vinnie Stigma meet in 1982, and form Zoo Crew before finally calling their band Agnostic Front. In addition to Adam Moochie on bass and Ray Beez on drums, the band released a year later their first United Blood demo (now a collector's album) on an independent label.
In 1984, Dave Jones (drummer) and Rob Kabula (bass) joined the group to record Victim in Pain, now considered as the band's best album. It was this one that brought them to the forefront of the CBGB scene, where they played with bands like Cro-Mags and Murphy's Law.
