Collie Buddz is a singer / producer of reggae, ragga and dancehall, famous among others for his hit "Come Around". Although born in New Orleans, he was raised in Bermuda, where he soaked in both musical culture and in Europe he was often imagined as an artist of Caribbean origin.
Collie Buddz , was born Colin Patrick Harper on August 21, 1984 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Following the death of his father when Colin was only four years old, his mother, with distant Caribbean origins, takes the family to Bermuda where the young Colin is raised. He quickly discovered Carribean musical culture and reggae through his older brother, Matthew "Smokey" Harper. Quickly, he learns to make his way to the recording studio where, at the age of twelve, he puts his voice on tape. It soon becomes obvious to his entourage that the boy has a voice with a striking sonority. He then qualified as a sound engineer at the Full Sail Academy in Orlando, Florida, and began his career as a singer / producer in the process.
In 2006, he signed at Sony BMG and in 2007, recorded his first album Collie Buddz. The eponymous album is released July 3, 2007 in the United States. The single, "Come Around", is immediately a hit in the charts, in Europe, in England, before being unanimous in Jamaica. The same summer, his second single at Sony "Mamacita" comes out and quickly becomes a hit.
He is the author of the entry theme "S.O.S" of wrestling superstar Kofi Kingston.
