The Alan Parsons Project , sometimes named APP , is a British progressive rock band from Glasgow, Scotland. In practice between 1975 and 1990, he was trained by pianist and songwriter Eric Woolfson and sound engineer and producer Alan Parsons.

Alan Parsons met Eric Woolfson at Abbey Road Studios in 1974. He had previously worked as a recording engineer on the Beatles Abbey Road albums in 1969 and Let It Be in 1970, as well as Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon. 1973. After signing for 20th Century Records, Tales of Mystery and Imagination was released in 1976 based on the idea and compositions of Eric Woolfson.
