Alesana

Alesana is a post-hardcore and American screamo band, originally from Raleigh, North Carolina. Their group name is derived from a Baltimore street named Aliceanna St. from where the group originated. Formed in 2004, the group is in current contract with the record label Revival Recordings. It is gaining popularity thanks to the album, On Frail Wings of Vanity and Wax .

Although the band's first performance took place in Baltimore, Maryland, Alesana formally formed in October in Raleigh, North Carolina, by Shawn Milke, Patrick Thompson, Dennis Lee, Steven Tomany and Daniel Magnuson. The band's name is inspired by a street, Aliceanna St., in which Shawn Milke and Patrick Thompson lived. Aliceanna St. is located in Fells Point, a neighboring town of Baltimore. Alesana is the first band to join the Tragic Hero Records label in 2005> presenting 3 demos entitled Apology , Beautiful in Blue and Goodbye, Goodnight for Good on the compilation All The Tragedy Money Can Buy . In May 2005, they released their first EP, Try This With Your Eyes Closed . Alesana participates in an American tour, including the Cornerstone Festival. The same year, the drummer Daniel Magnuson is replaced by Will Anderson.

In 2006, the band added new drummer Jeremy Bryan to replace Will Anderson, and added guitarist / singer Adam Ferguson to their line-up. They then compose an album On Frail Wings of Vanity and Wax , produced by Kit Walters, during summer 2006. At the end of 2006, Alesana signs the label Fearless Records, which again commercialized its LP in March 2007. The same year, the song Apology is presented in an acoustic version, Punk Goes Acoustic 2 . The group participates in Warped Tour 2007; bassist Steven Tomany eventually leaves Alesana. At the beginning of 2008, On Frail Wings of Vanity and Wax reached the 44> place of the Billboard Heatseekers> ranking.

In 2008, Alesana completes the recording of her second album, Where Myth Fades to Legend . It is released on June 3, 2008, but is illegally shared on share sites a month before it is released. Where Myth Fades to Legend is the title of their tour with Sky Eats Airplane, Last Last Night, Lovehatehero (in) , and The Chariot. A year before the recording of the album, the band lacked bassist. Shane Crump, former member of the band Your Name in Vain, is invited for an audition, and joins the group. At the Warped Tour 2008, Shane Crump leaves briefly for personal reasons and is replaced by Jake Campbell (guitarist Twelve Gauge Valentine (in) ). When Crump returns, Adam Ferguson and the band separate, and Cambell becomes the band's official guitarist.
