Diablo Swing Orchestra ( DSO ) is a Swedish avant-garde metal band. Formed in 2003, he currently has four albums to his credit: The Butcher's Ballroom released in 2006, Sing Along Songs for the Damned and Delirious in 2009, Pandora's Piñata in 2012 and Pacifisticuffs in 2017.
Formed in 2003, the band currently has eight members: Daniel Håkansson (guitar, male vocals), Kristin Evegård (female vocals), Pontus Mantefors (guitar, effects), Andy Johansson (bass), Petter Karlsson (drums, formerly in Therion) , Johannes Bergion (cello), Daniel Hedin (trombone) and Martin Isaksson (trumpet).
They mix different genres such as jazz, heavy metal and many of its variants: symphonic, progressive, psychedelic or folk. Their quirky style, apart from all classical genres, has earned them very good reviews >>>.
In its early days, the band offers free download songs on Myspace including: "=" en "> Heroines , Balrog Boogie and Poetic Pitbull Revolutions . The album The Butcher's Ballroom will be freely downloadable on Jamendo>. In July 2008, the group plays at Summer Breeze Open Air in Germany and in October 2008 at Metal Female Voices Fest in Belgium. In September 2008, they start writing a new album, and announced to have already 13 recorded songs.
