The Distillers

The Distillers is an American punk rock band from Los Angeles, California. After the band split in 2006, Dalle and guitarist Tony Bevilacqua will form Spinnerette.

The Distillers is formed in 1998 in Los Angeles, California. At the time of her first training, the group is composed of Brody Dalle also named Armstrong at that time, (because she was still married to Tim Armstrong, the leader of Rancid) on guitar and vocals, Kim Chi on bass, from Rose "Casper" Mazzola on guitar and Matt Young on drums.

The band signed with the label Epitaph Records and released in 2000 a first album of the same name. The latter suggests the passion of the musicians and is followed two years later by a second album Sing Sing Death House, certainly the one of their consecration but with a first change in the members. Indeed, after the departure of Kim Chi and Matt Young, Andy Granelli (former drummer of the Nerve Agents) and Ryan Sinn join the training Distillers. Shortly after, Casper left the group in turn. In 2003, a third album called Coral Fang comes out. The punk influences of the group are less felt. For this last album, it is the guitar technician of the group (and their ex-seller of t-shirts at the same time), Tony Bradley, who is invited to integrate the training as the main guitarist.

The year 2005 is rich in disappointments for the fans, Andy Granelli announces his departure of the group in February and this in order to join the group Darker My Love. As for Ryan Sinn, he announced the end of his adventure alongside the Distillers in July, and joined Angels and Airwaves he left two years later. Tony Bradley goes on tour alongside Har Mar Superstar as a bassist. Meanwhile, Brody Dalle is working on other projects; she makes an appearance on the album Lullabies to Paralyze of the Queens of the Stone Age, records a piece for the soundtrack of the film The Fantastic Four and participates to the album Death by Sexy ... of the Eagles of Death Metal. In 2006, Brody Dalle gave birth to her first child from her relationship with Josh Homme of the Queens of the Stone Age. The group separates the same year. Brody Dalle will form a new group, Spinnerette>.
