Divine heresy

Divine Heresy is an American heavy metal band from Los Angeles, California. It is formed by the guitarist Dino Cazares, founder of Fear Factory. Although the band's early roots date back to 2002, Divine Heresy is officially formed in 2006. The band consisted of guitarist Cazares, former Vital Remains drummer Tim Yeung, and former Nile bassist Joe Payne . The band's first album, "Bleed the Fifth" , was released on August 28, 2007, with 2,700 copies sold the first week.

Tommy "Vext" Cummings is dismissed after an altercation on stage> April 26, 2008. After auditions for a new member, it is announced August 14 that Travis Neal, founder and singer of The Bereaved, is his replacement.

In 2015, Cazares announced being the only remaining member of the group, which will remain inactive while he is dedicated to Fear Factory.

The band recorded their first album, "Bleed the Fifth" , in early 2007, produced by former Machine Head guitarist Logan Mader. The title of the album is a play on words, on which Cazares explains: "You have the right to close it, but on this album we say a lot". Cummings explains that most of the lyrics deal with personal issues, and how people solve them. Most of the lyrics are inspired by the Apocalypse, natural disasters, war and terrorism. Cazares explains that the album is a "huge fuck" to people who wanted it to fail>.
