Draconian

Draconian is a Swedish gothic doom and metal band from Säffle. Formed in 1994, Draconian writes and records songs in an atmospheric, dark and nostalgic vein.

The group's debut dates back to May 1994 in Säffle, when Johan Ericson (drums and vocals), Andy Hindenäs (guitars) and Jesper Stolpe (bass, vocals) join forces to form a melodic death metal band with black influences. from Kerberos. A few months after the singer and poet Anders Jacobsson joins them, the band then changes its name to Draconian. Their first demo was recorded in 1995. The demo featured flutist and singer Jessica Eriksson, keyboardist and singer Susanne. Arvidsson and Andreas Haag in the introduction section of My Nemesis . It is published in February 1996>; however, no contract is signed.

In early 1997, the band began recording a second demo, called In Glorious Victory . However, the group, dissatisfied with the quality of the recording, decides not to continue it>. Susanne Arvidsson leaves the group for personal reasons and is replaced in 2001 by Lisa Johansson. In the following months, two members of Draconian must perform their military service, which slows the activity of the group. Their repetitions, however, continue at a certain level. In 1998 and 1999, the group plays some concerts. They decide to enter the studio again. In August 1999, Draconian re-enlisted The Closed Eyes of Paradise, an album dedicated to the theme of Lucifer. Between May and June 2000, Andreas Karlsson, Anders Jacobsson, and Johan Ericson are working on songs. Andy Hindenäs leaves the band and is replaced by Johan Ericson on the guitar; Jerry Torstensson will play the drums.

"Dark Oceans We Cry" is published in 2002, and includes Lisa Johansson for the first time. The EP is published on the Internet, and allows the band to sign with Napalm Records. The band then recorded their first album, Where Lovers Mourn, at Studio Mega under the supervision of Chris Silver (former Sundown member and Cemetery) in July 2003>. Barely two years later, under the direction of Pelle Saether, Draconian entered the Västerås Underground Studio to record Arcane Rain Fell in 2005.
