Pelageya Sergeyevna Khanova (in Russian: Пелагея Сергеевна Ханова ) known as Pelageya , born on the 14th July 1986 in Novosibirsk, is a Russian folk singer.
His mother is Svetlana Gennadiyevna Khanova (Russian: Светлана Геннадьевна Ханова), former jazz singer and director of theater and current producer and artistic director of Pelageya>.
At the age of eight, Pelageya joined the music school attached to the Novosibirsk Conservatory. At the age of nine, she won the prize of Best Russian Folk Singer of 1996 in a televised competition.
In 1997 at the age of 11, she sang as a soloist at the concert celebrating the 850th anniversary of Moscow, an event attended by Jacques Chirac, Helmut Kohl and Boris Yeltsin.
