Amy macdonald

Amy Macdonald is a British singer-songwriter, singer and multi-instrumentalist, born August 25, 1987 in Glasgow, Scotland. She is known for such titles as This Is the Life or Mr Rock & Roll.

Amy Macdonald grew up in Bishopbriggs, East Dunbartonshire, Scotland. She also goes to school. Although she had always been interested in music, she only discovered her talent at the age of twelve, having listened to a Travis album and borrowed her father's guitar to learn how to play the songs. She is a self-taught musician. She writes one of her first texts about her sister's fanaticism towards Ewan McGregor. She begins to perform on stage at age 13, when a group of musicians comes to her college to work with students, and give concerts in Glasgow.

She left school at 16 to devote herself to music. That's the day after a show by Pete Doherty, she takes her guitar and writes her song This Is the Life, which becomes her first big hit. The title of the song is also the title of her album, because according to the singer, this evening spent with her friends defines best what life is: being surrounded by her family and enjoying every moment.

On July 30, 2007 released the first album of the singer, This Is the Life. The singles This Is the Life, Mr Rock & Roll, L.A. and Run are drawn. The album is very successful and sells over three million copies worldwide. It will remain 75 consecutive weeks in the charts of 17 countries and will be No. 1 in Great Britain, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Switzerland.
