Super meat boy

"Super Meat Boy" is an independent video game designed by Edmund McMillen and Tommy Refenes, which together form the development studio < span class = "lang-en" lang = "in"> Team Meat . He succeeds Meat Boy , a flash game from a collaboration between McMillen and Jonathan McEntee in October 2008. It is published on Xbox 360 via the Xbox Live Arcade on October 20, 2010, on Windows in November 2010, on Mac OS X on November 18, 2011 via Steam, on Linux in December 2011, on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on October 6, 2015, on Android on April 13, 2016 and on Wii U on May 12, 2016. A Nintendo Switch version is in development.

Players control Meat Boy , a small red and cubic character who must save his girlfriend, Bandage Girl , from the yoke of the main enemy of the game, the D> Fetus. It must cross several hundred levels avoiding the multiple obstacles that populate them, using millimeter jumps. Additional levels thought by players can be downloaded for free.

The development of the game begins in January 2009. McMillen draws the artworks and imagines the structure of the game and levels, while Refenes does the programming work; the game is tested by their friends and their families. They plan to release the game early 2010 on PC and WiiWare, the download platform for the Wii, but the publication date is postponed because they want to add more content. The WiiWare version is then canceled due to technical limitations. The music of the game is composed by Danny Baranowsky who was already the author of the soundtrack of Meat Boy .
