Tim Curry , by his real name Timothy James Curry , is a British actor and singer born on April 19, 1946 in Grappenhall, Warrington, Cheshire, England. (UK).

He is best known for his role as transvestite Frank-N-Further in the film adaptation of the British play The Rocky Horror Show and his portrayal of the Influenza-Under (Pennywise) clown in the film adaptation of the American horror novel Stephen King, It (It).

Tim Curry's parents met in Malta during the Second World War and then married in Egypt. James 'Jim' is a chaplain to the Royal Navy, from a family of Durham builders, and Patricia is a school board secretary from a seafaring family. Judith 'Judy', their first child, was born in Egypt and after a detour in South Africa, Tim was born in Grappenhall, a village on the outskirts of Warrington in the Cheschire. He is 6 months old when the family moves to Hong Kong. Unfortunately, his father suffers a stroke, and they return to settle in the United Kingdom, in Plymouth, Devon, with his maternal grandfather. After James Curry died of pneumonia in 1958 when he was 12, the family moved to South London and Tim was awarded a scholarship to enter Bath's Kingswood School in Somerset. He studied drama, played in school plays, and met Jonathan Lynn, who directed it in 1985 during the filming of Cluedo (Clue).
