Anti flag

Anti-Flag is an American punk band from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Anti-Flag is an increasingly popular group in the United States despite its political stance. This group is also very popular in Europe, Canada (especially Quebec), and other countries around the world.

The musical style of Anti-Flag contains a vast display of libertarian ideals and expresses strong resistance against fascism, religious organizations and nationalism. It is one of the few boycotted groups following the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Anti-Flag's calls for peace and unification after the attacks were unpopular in the government's drive for nationalism. Bush.

The group is often equated as anti-patriotic and anti-American by many, but Anti-Flag's resolve has only hardened.

Anti-Flag was formed in 1988 by singer and guitarist Justin Sane and drummer Pat Thetic. During the first years of the group, several guitarists and bassists followed one another, including Justin's sister Lucy Fester (aka Lucy Geever-Conroy) who belonged to the Toothpaste group of Chicago. The group does not solidify and disperse after a single concert>. In 1993, Justin and Pat reform the band, with Andy Flag on bass.
