Iced earth

Iced Earth is an American heavy metal band from Tampa, Florida. He was formed in 1985 under the name of Purgatory> by guitarist and singer-songwriter Jon Schaffer, and drummer Greg Seymour. Iced Earth released his first self-titled album in 1990, and has had eleven studio albums, four EPs, three compilations, three sets, three live albums and a cover album. After two albums in 1990 and 1991 respectively, Iced Earth takes a break between 1992 and 1995, and returns with a new singer, Matt Barlow. Iced Earth will publish four albums with Barlow between 1995 and 2001; Burnt Offerings in 1995, The Dark Saga in 1996, < Something Wicked This Way Comes in 1998, Horror Show in 2001.

After Horror Show , Barlow leaves the group to engage in law enforcement> while Iced Earth continues with Tim "Ripper" Owens, to the voice. With Owens, the group publishes two albums ( The Glorious Burden in 2004, and Framing Armageddon in 2007) until the end of 2007 with the return of Matt Barlow announced after five years of separation>. Iced Earth publishes the album The Crucible of Man with Barlow in 2008, but announces again in 2011 the departure, this time definitive, of the singer> . Later that year, the singer of Into Eternity, Stu Block, became the new singer. Dystopia , Block's first album with the group, is published in October 2011, and is very well received by the specialized press >>>. the second album with Block, Plagues of Babylon , is published in January 2014.

The central pillar of Iced Earth is, and has always been, guitarist Jon Schaffer, who will form the band on January 25, 1985> in Tampa, Florida. Schaffer's vision is formed under the initial name of The Rose in 1984>. The group is very short-lived, and Schaffer ends up forming Purgatory, which will eventually change its name to Iced Earth. train changes in the group are common, Jon Schaffer being the only original member.

The band recorded a demo in 1985, Psychotic Dreams . In 1988, Purgatory changed its name to Iced Earth>. According to Schaffer, one of his friends who died in a motorcycle accident before his move to Florida> will inspire the band's name>. In 1989, Iced Earth recorded another demo titled Enter the Realm , with a line-up composed of Gene Adam on vocals, Randall Shawver's guitar, Dave Abell on bass, Greg Seymour on drums, and Jon Schaffer on rhythm guitar and vocals.
