Autolux

Autolux is an American alternative rock band from Los Angeles, California. Their music is rock and melancholy, incorporating noise and electronic elements. The group is composed of members Eugene Goreshter (vocals and bass), Greg Edwards (vocals and guitar) and Carla Azar (vocals and drums).

The band's flagship songs are Turnstile Blues, Audience No. 2, Spots, Here Comes Everybody and Supertoys. Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) and Maynard James Keenan (Tool) like the band and praised them.

Autolux was formed in 2001 in Los Angeles, California. Goreshter and Azar meet while writing a song for Dario Fo's Accidental Death of an Anarchist. Azar meets Edwards during his tour with his band, Failure>. In August 2001, Autolux released its first live album, recorded at two shows at Fold's Silverlake Lounge. In March 2001, the band released an EP, Demonstration. It comprises five pieces>.

T-Bone Burnett signs Autolux at DMZ, a small label created by Burnett and the Coen brothers >>>. In November 2002, Autolux entered the studio to record his first album, Future Perfect, and completed the first recordings in January 2003. Unlike the recording methods used for Demonstration, Burnett wanted to capture a live sound for the album. The song Asleep at the Trigger is recorded at Space 23. At the end of 2003, the album is mixed by Dave Sardy. The album was published on September 21, 2004, and generally welcomed by the specialized press>
