Japandroids

Japandroids is a Canadian independent rock band from Vancouver, British Columbia. He trained in 2006, composed of Brian King and David Prowse. The duo calls their music "a bizarre mix of punk, garage rock, rock 'n' roll, blues, grunge and classic rock. "

Japandroids was formed in Vancouver, British Columbia, in 2006, at the initiative of guitarist Brian King and drummer David Prowse, who have known each other since their studies at the University of Victoria. The original idea is to recruit a singer for a training similar to that of Yeah Yeah Yeahs. The two men finally decide to share the role of singer. The name Japandroids is the combination of Japanese Scream and Pleasure Droids, the group names they originally thought of>.

Frustrated by the lack of support for the Vancouver music scene, and the difficulty of breaking into this scene, King and Prowse regularly perform their own concerts. Inspired by the do-it-yourself methods of groups like Fugazi, they move their own rehearsal space, rent out equipment, and distribute their flyers and posters >>>. Japandroids play their first concert on December 30, 2006.

For the next two years, they play in Vancouver, but not as regularly as they wish because they are trapped by King's studies of geology. The first two publications of the duo are self-produced EP: All Lies in 2007> and Lullaby Death Jams in 2008>. Despite a large number of concerts in the Vancouver area, the duo is struggling to make an audience, but decides to publish a first album even to separate in the wake if the situation does not improve.
